
Introdution
Chongqing Zoo is located at Yangjiaping on Xijiao Road in the Jiulongpo District of Chongqing and was built in 1953 and officially opened to the public in 1955. The zoo covers an area of 45 hectares (111 acres). The zoo an important base for the protection of and research on wild animals. It exhibits rare species including giant pandas, red pandas, the very rare South China tiger and white tiger, and the African elephant. Among them, the pandas are the most popular.

What to see in Chongqing Zoo
In the Panda Room, you can see the giant pandas and the cat-like little pandas. Panda feeding time is between 8:30AM - 10:30 AM. The panda is the symbol of China and a national treasure. Its popularity and the excellent Panda exhibits attract tens of thousands of people. It is the goal of the zoo to not only give you the opportunity to see the panda, but also make more opportunities for future generations to appreciate panda through breeding.
You could also see the South China Tiger, which is thought to be the rarest kind of tiger. There may be less than 20 left in the wild. They used to live in forests in southern China with smaller figures.
The children's theme park, skating rink along with the stage, reading rooms, and restaurants open every day. The zoo is surrounded by beautiful mountains with abundant natural scenery, making it a true treasure in the area.
